7 must-have products of every hair care freak

I’d like to devote today’s post to favorite products I can’t do without in my everyday hair care.

I wonder whether my choices (top 7 must-haves of every hair care freak) are at least a bit similar to yours. 🙂

TOP 7 PRODUCTS I CAN’T PERFORM MY HAIR CARE ROUTINE WITHOUT

1. A gentle, nettle shampoo

Hands down, washing is a core element of day-to-day hair care. Maybe not day-to-day, we don’t need a hair wash every single day. I reach for a shampoo 2-3 times a week. Nevertheless, the ingredients in a shampoo do matter so that it effectively cleanses not drying out the hair.

My favorite:

The highest mark in this category goes to Klorane Nettle Shampoo for natural components, lasting long, not leaving hair dry and effectively reducing oiliness.

2. Dry shampoo (DIY)

Because overwashing strips off natural protective lipid film, I reach for a dry shampoo between washes. I can’t imagine my hair care kit without it! The product comes useful when my hair is not fresh and I need to go out immediately. Besides that, it’s best for boosting hair volume and lifting the roots. Try the trick!

A recipe for a natural dry shampoo:

Generally I prefer DIY dry shampoo because drugstore products are pricey, filled up with chemical substances and they run out fast. How to make a natural dry shampoo? Mix a little potato flour with cocoa. Apply it to hair roots with a fluffy make-up brush and comb the hair.

3. Natural hair oils

The honorable third place belongs to my beloved hair oils. I guess I could write an essay about them but, don’t worry, I’ll just sum up the essentials. I love to do a hair oil treatment because it’s a game-changing replacement for most conditioning products (conditioners, serums, masks). A well-suited oil: nourishes, maintains moisture, smoothes out, boosts gloss, balances scalp pH, relieves irritations, reduces dandruff, shields from the sunlight and heat. Salon-like full service!

My favorite oils:

Nanoil hair oils are my current favorites. The brand offers both pure, cold-pressed oils (jojoba, castor, avocado, macadamia, almond, argan) and natural, oil-based treatments (for low, medium and high porosity hair).

4. Enzyme scalp scrub

I love that feeling when my scalp is perfectly clean and that’s why I use enzyme scrubs (not every day, once a week or so) which let me remove all nasties that a shampoo fails to handle – styling product build-up, dead skin cells, sebum excess, etc.

This month’s favorite:

I love Bandi Tricho-Esthetic Scrub – its gel formula, “weightlessness” and amazing effects.

5. Natural protein conditioner

A hair conditioner is a must-have in my beauty kit. Because I use hair oils, I don’t need intense masks but a light leave-in conditioner comes very useful for detangling and making hair smooth. I choose ones with proteins because my hair is fragile and easily damaged. Of course they must be made of natural ingredients!

6. Natural humectant conditioner

Another type of conditioner I always keep close is one based on humectants i.e. moisturizing substances binding water in hair. I don’t have any favorites in this category, I simply go for natural, high-quality products.

7. Raspberry vinegar hair rinse

Finally, a real jewel. The last must-have in my hair care arsenal: a vinegar rinse. Hair needs an acidifying agent after a wash to close the cuticle scales. Why it matters? Hair loses water and essential nutrients through open scales and is in turn coarse and dull.

The best hair rinse:

I love, love, love Yves Rocher Brilliance Rinsing Vinegar. It has a nice color, pleasant aroma (for a vinegar) and amazing effect – silky smooth hair. It’s a perfect step to complete a hair wash. A superb gloss!
